PACIFICA 12” LP – 2000/5000 SERIES
P-2001/2006 – P-5001

The Pacifica series began in 1954 with the 78 RPM release of the Michael Raine single on PJ-1001. It ended with the 1957 release of P-2006, GARY CROSBY. The 10” LP release featuring Johnny Holiday on Pacifica did not see a reissue on 12” LP, but the Kitty White 10” LP was reissued with additional tracks as Pacifica P-2002, A MOMENT OF LOVE.
The single release on Pacifica using a 5000 series number features Gerald Heard. World Pacific released other spoken word albums featuring Heard on WP-1255, GERALD HEARD / REFLECTIONS, and WP-1268, GERALD HEARD / INDICATIONS.
The Pacifica series did not use the Pacifica logo exclusively as seen below where the Pacific Jazz and World Pacific logos are used. The release on P-5001 used no logo, simply a border identification that it was part of the Pacifica series. We have provided cover graphics for this brief series to add some interest plus an interview with Bud Shank and Bob Cooper where they recount their experiences while touring Europe during the time that Bud Shank recorded the album with Gary Crosby.
