WORLD PACIFIC 12” LP – 1800 SERIES
PART FIVE – WPS-21881 / WPS-21904

© James A. Harrod, COPYRIGHT PROTECTED; ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

This fifth group of releases in 1800 series concludes use of that numerical series by World Pacific.  All of the releases were stereo or mono reprocessed to simulate stereo, all release numbers with a “2” prefix that had been used when mono releases in the series needed to be distinguished from stereo releases. Several numbers were not assigned or used in this group: WPS-21885, WPS-21901, and WPS-21902.

Artists represented on this group of releases include: J. P. Rags, Harper & Row, Billy Larkin & The Delegates, The Sandals, Shakey Jake, George Smith, Roy Harper, Lord Buckley, Sunnyland Slim, Billy Larkin, The Groundhogs, The Carnival, Peter Sarstedt, The Craig Hundley Trio, Big Joe Williams, Dr. K’s Blues band, The Fortunes, and The Rockin’ Berries.

Steve LaVere and Pete Welding produced a series of four albums in a series entitled “BLUESMAKERS”  that have not been reissued on CD.  Given the popularity of the blues market it would seem that the four albums would make a handsome 2 CD set complete with the original liner notes by Pete Welding.
