Pacific Jazz had entered the folk music field in the mid fifties, due in large part to the urging of Ed Michel who produced the first folk album, A NIGHT AT THE ASHGROVE.  Folk releases found a home in the 1800 series along with the esoteric other genres that World Pacific added to the catalogue.

Artists represented on this group of releases include: The Kentucky Colonels, Joe Pass, Charles Kynard & Buddy Collette, David Parker, Clifford Scott, Chet Baker, Bud Shank and Bob Cooper, The Stoneman Family, Tut Taylor, Clare Fischer, The Mastersounds, The Sandals, The Bandits, John Barbour, Glenn Campbell, Larry Nelson, Billy Larkin and The Delegates, The Carmel Strings featuring Larry Knechtel, The Mariachi Brass featuring Chet Baker, Bud Shank featuring Chet Baker, Bob Florence.

The original Pacific Jazz logo that was modified to a single line and used on the initial releases in this new PJ series was gradually be phased out of use as seen in this group of releases where a more modern unadorned font is seen on labels.

Three of the stereo versions of releases below display the revised logo created when Liberty acquired World Pacific.  Original releases had the modern unadorned font seen in the other examples of stereo versions.
