Pacific Jazz had entered the folk music field in the mid fifties, due in large part to the urging of Ed Michel who produced the first folk album, A NIGHT AT THE ASHGROVE. Folk releases found a home in the 1800 series along with the esoteric other genres that World Pacific added to the catalogue.
