This second group of releases in the WP-1400 includes albums that were first released in the 1200 series: Kimeo Eto/Koto Music; Kimeo Eto & Bud Shank/ Koto & Flute; Bud Shank & Laurindo Almeida/Latin Contrasts and Sarita Heredia/Sarita & Co. Bock also released new material in this series by Kimeo Eto and Sarita.
The WP-1400 series would become an exclusive home for recordings by Ravi Shankar and a circle of Indian musicians that Shankar brought to the label. Ravi Shankar and Dick Bock had met at the Self Realization Fellowship (SRF) in Hollywood and Bock’s World Pacific label would become the primary source for classical Indian music.
Artists represented on this group of releases include: Ravi Shankar, Kimeo Eto, Kimeo Eto & Bud Shank, Bud Shank & Laurindo Almeida, Balachander, Sarita Heredia, Ali Akbar Khan, Balachander & Ramani, Alla Rakha, Chatur Lal, Kanai Dutta, Ramabhadran, Sivaraman and Subbulakshmi.
